CD TABLE CLOCKS

A great way to use up old CDs and their jewel cases is to turn them into table clocks!

All you need to make this project is a CD, one 3/8" thick jewel case (the cases that are less than 3/8" thick and the ones that look like shells are not suitable) and a purchased quartz clock movement. The CD is used to support the embroidered clock face and the jewel case becomes its stand. The embroidered clock face designs come with complete instructions on how to make the clock. It's a quick and easy project, all you need do is embroider the design, drill a hole in the jewel case and assemble the clock mechanism. Clock movements are usually sold at Michaels, Wal-Mart, and Joann stores and over the Internet at www.clockparts.com/catalog.html.

This project requires a minimum 5"x 7" (130mm x 180mm) embroidery area.

Make one for yourself, give them as a gift, the available designs are varied and suit any decor. Make several CD clock faces and change them to suit the season or occasion.
