Applique Christmas Tree Banner With LED Lights

This lovely lighted Christmas tree banner to welcome your friends is very easy to make. The applique Christmas tree is designed to be used with or without small LED lights according to your preference. The LED lights used for this project ( see picture below) are available in craft stores. If you choose to not use the lights, embroider the candles with their flames instead of the positioning eyelets for the lights. The design is attractive either way. The Christmas tree banner design comes in 2 sizes to fit 5"x11.75" ( 130x300mm) and 5"x10" (130x260mm) embroidery areas. A large 6.5"x11.75" tree design suited to decorative items ( not the banner) is included.

The Christmas tree banner project comes with a printable actual-size pattern complete with position markings for the design and the text as well as illustrated step-by-step instructions for embroidering the designs and constructing the banner.

The banner is approx. 20" long ( from the top to the point) and 7" wide. The tree is applique; the garland, candles, star and toys are embroidery. Each candle is lit by a small LED light. The eyelets for positioning the lights are embroidered above the candles. Make the hole and push the lights through. Embroider the 11.75" x 5" or the 10" x 5" tree, depending on the size of your embroidery hoop. The 11.75" tree also comes in a split version for the Brother/BabyLock 3-position hoop.

Above is illustrated the package of the lights used for the tree. There are 10 lights ( 10" long wires ) in this package.

Another option is to use the small lights designed for the miniature Christmas village collections. Omit the candles. This string has 20 small lights.Poke small holes in the fabric 1.5"apart and push the lights through.

This version illustrates the embroidered candles with their flames. You can further embellish the tree with small charms or miniature baubles as on the above tree.

The 6.5" x11.75" version of the tree is suitable for decor items such as cushions and wall hangings, etc.	This 6.5"x11.75" tree is decorated with small candy canes cut from a mini-print fabric and fused to the applique.	The smaller size tree can also be used for decor items. The wall hanging above shows the 5"x10" tree. The text surrounding the tree is included with this project.
